Fragment, just over 50% surviving, cast copper-alloy saucer brooch. Shallow upturned rim, edges damaged. Central ring-and-dot motif encircled by groups of three radial lines forming a basketwork rosette; further enclosed by three concentric rings; surrounded by a border of basketwork ornament with groups of four incised lines, within triple concentric rings at perimeter. Trace of catchplate. Dark, almost black patina. D: 37 Ht: 3.5 Wt: 13.31g This brooch is very similar to a pair from Brighthampton, Oxfordshire (MacGregor and Bolick 1993, 49 no. 2.33)
