A very fine Aesica or Thistle brooch, single cast. Fantail foot, decoration lost. A circular boss joins the foot to the bow, the latter which terminates on the top of the wings with a suspension loop. The wings are semi-circular in section and is enclosed in the centre of the spring cavity by a loop. Evidence of silvering over the whole brooch. Collingwood Group W.
