Incomplete copper alloy 'D' shaped Medieval buckle frame. The pin is missing. The strap bar is narrow and slightly offset. According to the typology shown in 'Meols: The Archaeology of the North Wirral Coast' (Griffiths et al. 2007 p.84, fig. 2.5.1) it is a type two buckle dating to the late 13th/early 14th century (ibid. p.88). Length: 1.3mm, Width: 1.7mm
