A cast copper alloy terret ring (incomplete), with integrally cast rectangular strap loop. The strap loop has a rectangular skirt dividing it from the ring. The ring has two rounded knops on either side of the ring on its widest point, and it may have had a third knop at the top. The top portion of the ring is now broken and missing, while lower down the loop wear from the harness / reins is evident as one side of the loop has been worn thinner than its opposing side. The terret ring is decorated with punched dots above the skirt and partially up onto the loop, although the decoration is inconsistent; there is a row of double dots up one side of the ring but none on the ring on the other side. The ring itself is roughly ovoid in cross section. The terret ring measures 48.68mm diameter (including the knops), while the skirt measures 15.08mm wide. The strap loop measures 27.17 x 15.29mm. The terret ring weighs 19.3gms.
