Copper-alloy jetton. Nuremburg issue. Arpad Tatar kindly suggests the following reading, amending an initial essay by this reporter which did particular violence to the obverse legend. Obverse description: Draped and laureate bust right with circumferential legend. Obverse inscription: LUDOUIC XIII DG FRANC ET NA REX Reverse description: Paired shields - left shield bears three fleurs-de-lis, the right shield may bear three leopards - beneath crown under tressure arch, surrounded by double ring of stars, with circumferential legend. Outer border may be milled. Reverse inscription: WOLF.LAUFER.RECH+PFENIGMACHER.IN [N]V Suggested date: 1600-1700. Diameter: 26.61mm, Weight: 1.82gms, die axis: 12
