Post Medieval (16th - 17th century) cast copper alloy dish support from a chafing dish. The support is incomplete, comprised of an incomplete hinged swinging arm. The arm would have been attached to the main body of the vessel, and is in the form of a flat curved bar with a terminal in the form of a human head. The head has cast facial features and hair. The other end of the bar worn break, across the circular hole for the hinge mechanism. Hinged arms could be swivelled over the top of the bracket, either to hold plates above the charcoal, or as a handle to avoid burns to the hands whilst moving the vessel. The artefact has a dark green patina, and the surface is slightly worn. The arm is 35.95mm long, 10.344 wide expanding to 18.32mm at the head-shaped terminal, it is 4.72mm thick and weighs 12.81 g
