An incomplete cast copper-alloy stirrup terminal of Early-Medieval date. It is triangular in form with hollow back face and flat, trilobate base resembling a foot. The flat base has projecting globular lobes on each corner, one of which is now missing due to old breaks. At the top the terminal narrows to a transverse groove above which it terminates in old breaks. The hollow back face has the remains of an added white substance, probably solder that would have enabled attachment of the terminal to the iron arms of the stirrup. The entire object has extremely worn and pitted surfaces. It measures 28.93mm in length, 17.71mm in width at foot, 14.81mm in depth/thickness at foot, and weighs 13.66g. This is an incomplete Early-Medieval stirrup mount similar to parallel published by Williams (1997: fig. 5), as well as other examples recorded on the PAS database from Suffolk (for example SF-030005 or SF-FEFD92). These indicate an 11th century AD date for the current object.
