An early Post Medieval lead alloy (pewter) dish dating to the 16th century. The dish is relatively small with a diameter of 115.11mm. The dish has a slightly convex base, concave tapering sides and a flange just before the rim which has a square profile. On the rim are two maker’s stamps (touch marks) one of which is a Lombardic A and the other is a rampant lion. There are no other marks visible. Dimensions: thickness: 13.83mm; diameter: 115.11mm; weight: 157.49g. Identification and dating by Tony Pilson and Ian Smith based on foreshore context.
