An incomplete Medieval/ Early Post-Medieval (1100-1700) copper alloy unidentified strap fitting, measuring 16.46x14.91x1.98mm and weighing 0.98g. The object consists of an edge with a sewing hole in each corner a V-shaped cut reaching from either end. This edge is max.4.74mm wide, min.3.14mm and decorated with grooved cross-hatching. Arms extend back from the edge, one of which is a stump, while the other extends a little longer. It measures 3.3x1.9mm and has some moulded transverse decoration of uncertain form. The object is possibly some kind of hooked tag. The open area between the arms suggests a loop of some kind.
