Fragment of a cast copper alloy strap fitting of Roman date, c.200-300. All that remains of the fitting is an oval boss with single central deep median groove in a stylised representation of the female vulva. These type of strap fittings are normally classed as military belt fittings and are commonly dated to the third century. Find recorded from images supplied by North West MDC.
