A cast copper-alloy annular brooch of medieval date, incomplete in as much as it is missing its pin. The frame is not exactly circular. It is bevelled internally on its lower surface. The upper surface has a flat internal ring beyond which it is rebated. Spaced equally around the ring are six sub-pentagonal collets, some abraded and some retaining off-white adhesive. Between two of the collets is a perforation for the pin. The upper surface of the internal ring is decorated with finely punched annulets between the collets. The metal has corroded to a dark-grey colour but is mostly covered in yellowy-white corrosion product. A parallel can be found illustrated in Griffiths et al. (2007, 144; ref. 1728); other similar brooches (e.g. Read 2001, 109; ref. 788) seem to have a more drop-shaped form.
