A miscellaneous fragment of fired clay The fragment is 11.96mm thick and weighs 5.5g. It is 25.31mm long and 28.30mm wide. The fragment consists of a piece of fired clay, original form unidentifiable. The fabric is similar to that published as GR2 (fine grog/clay pellet with some leached shell) in McSloy 2007, p 25, dated to the Bronze Age (c.2150 BC to c.800 BC) but without the fossil shell. Sherd specific details: Fabric type: occasional grog temper, sparse mica Sherd type: fragment Wall thickness: 11.96mm Firing condition: oxidised exterior, unoxidised core Hardness: hard Surface texture: soft, soapy Condition of sherds: slightly abraded Sherd/fragment not photographed. Sherd/fragment was found in the same findspot as WMID-5E5753.
