A copper-alloy mount of Medieval date. The mount takes the form of a six-petalled flower head which has been stamped from sheet-metal. The central element is domed; surrounding this are six plain petals (one damaged) with convex outer edges and dividing grooves. The rivet is attached to a central hole in the mount. It is of circular section and has a circular stop at the base. The mount measures 12.9mm in diameter, 5mm high and weighs 0.7g. Several examples of sexfoil mounts have been found in excavations in London (see Egan and Pritchard 1991: 186-193).
