Incomplete Post Medieval cast copper alloy double looped buckle frame (1500-1650 AD). The oval-looped frame has a D-shaped section with a steeply bevelled interior edge. The wide outer edge is only sparsely decorated, with three incised lines radiating outwards from the centre of each loop’s outer edge. The central of these incisions could have served as the pin-rest, but this cannot be certain. The pin of the buckle is missing; the strap bar is recessed. The frame measures 35.06mm long, 28.25mm wide and 2.75mm thick; it weighs 5.8g. This type of buckle dates from circa 1500 - 1650. Similar buckles can be seen in Whitehead, 2003, p54.
