A silver Roman coin; a denarius of Septimius Severus, (AD193-211), similar to RIC number 92a dating from 196 - 197AD. The coin feels very light, but Portable XRF analysis suggests that it is about 89%. It may however, be a contemporary forgery. It has a diameter of 16.53mm, thickness 2.48mm and a weight of 2.11g.
