Cast copper alloy Medieval harness pendant of 12th to 14th century date. A cruciform pendant with four arms, each arm being sub-triangular. The upper arm is squatter than the others. The suspension loop is at 90 degrees to the rest of the pendant and the top part of the loop is missing. There is a border of raised pellets around each arm of the pendant. Remains of gilding can be seen on the decorated face. The reverse is plain. The object has a dark green patina with patches of light green corrosion product on both faces. No parallels can be found in the usual sources however there is a less decorated cruciform pendant on the database (NCL-688191).Weight 10g,width 40.16mm, length 41.87, thickness 2.76mm max (excluding suspension loop.
