Copper alloy Dutch duit from Gelderland, probably minted in Harderwijk in 1720. The obverse legend IN DEO SP NOS in full should read 'In Deo spes nostra', meaning 'Our hope in God'. GELRIAE (AE ligated) on the reverse refers to Gelderland. Ref: Ge 114 in D. Purmer (2009) 'Handboek van de Nederlandse Provinciale Muntslag 1568-1795 Deel II van de voormalige provincies, Steden en heerlijkheden alsmede de gouden, zilveren en koperen afslagen. Algemeen Catalogus'.
