A bodysherd/fragment of a medieval coarseware ceramic vessel. The sherd is 6.32mm thick and weighs 5.9g. It is 36.34mm long and 30.53mm wide. The sherd consists of a bodysherd with leached inclusions, fired to a dark brown/black colour. The sherd is mostly likely from a cooking pot style of vessel. It is similar to that described as COTS in McSloy 2007, pp30, dating from 11th to 13th Centuries AD Sherd specific details: Fabric type: dark leached limestone inclusions. Sherd type: bodysherd Wall thickness: 6.32mm Firing condition: Unoxidised interior, unoxidised core (dark grey/black in colour). Oxidised exterior. Hardness: hard Condition of sherds: slightly abraded Sherd/fragment photographed.
