A bodysherd/fragment of a ceramic jug. The sherd is 9.91mm thick and weighs 47.8g. It is 58.69mm long and 66.11mm wide. The sherd consists of a bodysherd with the base of a handle projecting from the side. It is similar in style to medieval flat style handles used for jugs from the mid 12th to mid 13th centuries AD. Sherd specific details: Fabric type: fine sand tempered fabric, with frequent mica and white quartz inclusions. Sherd type: bodysherd Wall thickness: 9.91mm Handle type: strip Firing condition: oxidised exterior, unoxidised core, oxidised interior.
