A basesherd/fragment of a wheelthrown unglazed ceramic vessel. The sherd is 8.67mm thick and weighs 17.4g. It is 40.71mm long and 50.40mm wide. The sherd consists of a basesherd, most likely from a cooking pot type vessel, in a orange oxidised fabric similar to that published as COTS (Cotswold Oolitic) in McSloy 2007 pp30. A significant proportion of the oolitic limestone inclusions have been leached out. It most likely dates from 11th to 13th centuries.
