An incomplete socketed axe of Late Bronze Age date. A small fragment from the mouth of the axe survives intact, the remainder missing due to old breaks. It has a moulded rim with slight transverse moulded ridge below, the surviving fragment preserving one corner of the mouth. It has a dark green patina on the exterior surface as well as traces of corrosive copper-alloy products and relatively extensive pitting. The fragment measures 33.30mm in length, 19.27mm in width, 3.04mm in thickness, and weighs 10.37g. This incomplete socketed axehead is of Late Bronze Age date, c.1150-800 BC.
