A miniature medieval brooch, circular in form, with a flat back and raised decoration on the front. This consists of four collets, made to accommodate stones, now lost, placed at equal distances at the top and bottom of the frame of the brooch. In the middle of the frame at each side is a semi-spherical moulding with punched decoration imitating granulation. The pin is intact and is secured by a rod within the frame of the brooch and a groove, which serves as a pin-rest. The brooch is gold and dates from the thirteenth or early fourteenth century.
