Cast copper alloy strap end length 31mm, width 8mm, thickness 4mm, weight 3.23g. Highly stylised animal head terminal, narrowed neck leading onto the main body which gently expands towards the terminal. The main body has a low camber with six chevrons running down its length. There are two copper alloy rivets, one at the front of the main body and one to the rear, these hold a copper alloy plate on the underside.
This type of strap end is mainly found in the southern and south-eastern part of the country and date to the late 8th-11th century (Thomas, 2003, 4).
