16th-18th Century. Lead alloy, cast, medium size, biface token. Length 20.6mm, Width 19.8mm, Thickness 1.8mm, Diameter 20.6mm, Weight 3.2g. Circular, flat, lead token. Obverse: Square chequered field (multi-lined) or cross hatch design. Reverse: Central short cross design with plain border. It is possible this type of cross hatched token was given to farm labourers to record the amount of ploughing or harrowing they had completed?
