Object type certainty: Certain

Conical lead weight with slender iron loop at top. The base is oval, 15 x 14 mm, and the weight is 34 mm tall in total. It weighs 28.08g (0.99 oz). Because it weighs almost exactly one ounce, it may be a trading weight of the 14th century onwards; but because it has a hanging loop, it may be a steelyard weight. It is not of the conventional Roman form, so may date to any time from the Roman to post-medieval periods.
