A cast copper alloy buckle of medieval date. The buckle is a single loop with ornate outer edge comprising two lobed knops flanking a constriction with a sheet roller. The roller is decorated with incised lines around its circumference. The strap bar is narrowed and offset. The pin survives along with a small fragment of the plate. The metal is a mid brownish-green colour and is slightly worn. The buckle is 19.22mm long, 15.6mm wide, 5.6mm thick and weighs 3.1g. Buckles of this type date to 1250-1400. A similar example can be seen in Whitehead, p.22, no.96.
