Only the upper plate remains. The plate is sub-trapezoidal in shape, with a knop on three sides of the plate. There is an elongated trapezoidal platform in the centre of the plate. From this platform an arched strip of copper alloy forms which has a broken edge, but which would have formed the upright of the brooch. On the reverse is a vertical protruding plate which is incomplete.
