A crudely cast, lead alloy spindle whorl, probably of medieval date, AD1200-1500. It has a flat base and a domed top without decoration. There is a small, hourglass-shaped piercing, somewhat off-centre. The edges of the whorl have been damaged and some small sections are missing. It has a creamy yellow patina. It is 20mm in diameter and 6.7mm thick. It weighs 11.1gm.
