Late Medieval gold plated brooch, 26mm long, 20mm wide and 3mm thick. The object is in fair condition with a golden patina and weighs 3.32grams.

A medieval brooch in the shape of a heart. The front has cavities to take enamel, divided by beaded chevrons on each side and a beaded panel at the bottom that serves as a pin-rest. The brooch-pin is intact and is held in place by a concealed rod. At the base of the heart is a suspension loop, probably for the attachment of a chain. The reverse is decorated with an inscription separated by foliate motifs. The inscription reads in French: SANS NUL MAL (Without any ill) The brooch is silver-gilt and dates from the fifteenth century.
