Post Medieval cast copper alloy double looped buckle frame. The frame has a flat back and bevelled inner and outer edges. The outer edge of both loops are expanded outwards and inwards at the centre into points creating a lozenge shaped area, one of which is damaged on the outer side. The narrowed strap bar has lobed knops at either end. The cast pin is D shaped in section with a flat back and tapers gradually to the point. Whitehead (2003) illustrates a similar example (p.61, No.365) which he dates to c1550-1650 AD. It is 42.8mm long, 26.8mm wide and 3.2mm thick; it weighs 7.8 grams.
