Flint debitage from the final / tertiary phase of knapping dating from the later Neolithic 2900-2100 BC. The piece of debitage has been reworked into a small irregular discoidal scraper. Both the dorsal and ventral faces exhibit a number of flake scars in several different directions. One edge has been extensively reworked with neat regular flakes being removed to create a serrated scraping edge. The end has similar reworking present – possibly suggesting a chisel like edge. The flint is a mid grey colour; there is some evidence of damage through abrasion in the ploughsoil and the edges are rolled and exhibit hinge fractures. There are also a number of small flaws and inclusions in the matrix of the flint suggesting a poor procurement source, possibly river gravels. The debitage measures 40.1mm length, 28.6mm width and is 7.8mm thick and weighs 8.87 grams
