Cast copper alloy Post Medieval breeching dee. It is assymetrical with a D-shaped loop linking to a slightly narrower rectangular section, the end bar of which extends on both sides past the frame. The D-shaped loop has a circular cross-section, the rest of the object has a rectangular cross-section.

This object looks like a buckle, but is in fact a harness fitting which helps to brake a vehicle going downhill so that it doesn't press on the horse's rump. It is known as a breeching dee.
