Object type certainty: Certain

Cast copper alloy fragment from the tip of a Middle or Late Bronze Age spearhead (1500-800 BC). The fragment is broadly triangular in plan and lozenge shaped in cross section. The edges are rolled suggesting loss of the blade facets at the tip. There is no evidence of the base of the socket on the broken edge suggesting that the break is across the upper tip of the spear. A clear raised bevel is present running down the centre of the fragment. The patina is a polished mid green colour with small traces of active corrosion present on the breaks. The fragment measures 32.7mm length, 14.1mm wide, is 6.6mm thick and weighs 8.9 grams.
