The sherd appears to be a fragment of a curved handle. The surfaces are a red/orange colour with the core being a light grey colour. Within the fabric there are occasional voids, otherwise inclusions are not clear. The handle is a sub-oval shape in cross-section, with a shallow, wide, vertical groove. The groove is decorated with small oblique slashes. Either side of the groove is also decorated with small oblique slashes. There is a very small area which has glaze remaining on the exterior surface of the handle.
