Object type certainty: Certain
Workflow status: Awaiting validation Find awaiting validation

Heavily worked bladelet core which has had multiple removals. The back is 90% covered by a thick layer of cortex apart from a few accidental breaks near the striking platform. There is a large flat striking platform and evidence of removal of multiple very small blades, all apparently from the same end with some damage from mis-strikes round the edge of the platform. It is 41.7mm long, 26.9mm wide, 16.2mm thick and weighs 20.41 grams. The flint is dark brown in colour. This is a well formed small core which has been extensively worked to remove as much material as possible. Other material in the vicinty includes some microliths as well as another core, small blades and flakes, some reworked into tools. In general the collection of material suggests a Mesolithic date (8300-3500 BC).
