A copper-alloy mount of Medieval date. The mount has been stamped from a sheet of metal. It is sub-square in plan, having a shallow convex portion at the centre of each side. At the centre of the mount is a raised square with a central rivet hole. The mount is decorated with an incised cross which corresponds with the concave portions on the sides and has the rivet hole at its centre. The end of each cross arm is flanked by a pair of small circular indentations. The artefact measures 13.8mm wide, 13.8mm long and 3mm high. The weight is 1.05g.
