Six sherds of Roman Oxford colour coated ware. The sherds have been stuck back together by members of the excavation team; the shape and diameter suggests a beaker-type vessel. The vessel has been decorated in a white paint consisting of a row of vertical dots bound either side by a vertical line - this decoration is repeated every c.16mm. Paul Booth of Oxford Archaeology said that although unusual, decorated beakers are not uncommon. This beaker dates from the 3rd to 4th centuries AD.
