A bent and pierced 17th-century post-medieval silver penny of Charles II struck at London in 1670 AD (Spink 3390). The piercing is at 2 o'clock on the obverse face and 4 o'clock on the reverse. Its square shape suggests it was made with a nail through the obverse. The coin also has an S-shaped profile, having been bent twice, possibly as a love token.

Notes:

This coin was issued as part of a 'maundy' set; these coins also entered general circulation.
