Fragment of a cast copper alloy key, probably dating to the Roman period. It is sub-rectangular in plan, and oval in section. The bit of the key has four linear clefts and one transverse cleft on one side, while the opposite side has one large linear cleft and a transverse cleft. These clefts would have served the lever type of lock. The pedestal and bow are missing. It has a mid green patina and is in good condition.
