Post Medieval cast copper alloy oval discoidal end cap of scale-tang knife with end of iron tang in cleft. Three deeply engraved oblique slashes around end. Engraved on both faces is '1525' between two horizontal lines. It is 12.7mm wide by 11.4mm long by 5.7mm thick and weighs 4.69. Several similar knife stops are recorded on the database, e.g. DOR-55A6C1 and NMS-ED0EE1; these show that the same type were issued with a range of dates suggesting it is probably the date of production rather than a sigificant date being commemorated or have some other meaning.
