Fragment of a Medieval or early Post-Medieval(1250-1650) cast copper alloy or ?pewter rim, from a large vessel probably a cauldron, skillet or laver. The rim is everted and has broken at the shoulder. The interior is smooth and has a rounded rim edge. The exterior is roughly cast. Length 55mm, width 30mm, thickness 4.73mm, weight 23.23g. The fragment has a dark green patina with very small patches of mid green corrosion product. There is some sooting on the exterior.
