Twelve flint blades and scrapers of various sizes found together with large collection of Mesolithic to early Bronze Age flint tools and flint working debris dispersed over a field. All are in fairly good condition, but with small amounts of plough damage in places. All are probably of Mesolithic to Neolithic date. The following dimensions and notes refer to the objects shown in the photograph in order from left to right. 1. Length: 22.05mm, Width: 11.78mm, Thickness: 3.22mm Weight: 0.70g Small secondary flake, perhaps deliberately shaped to a point at the distal end. Little sign of further reworking. White-grey in colour, with a small amount of cortex remaining at the proximal end. 2. Length: 16.36mm, Width: 13.92mm, Thickness: 2.97mm Weight: 0.81g Small tertiary flake. No signs of further retouch. Dark grey in colour with a matt patina. 3. Length: 22.38mm, Width: 11.16mm, Thickness: 3.77mm Weight: 0.92g Small, thin tertiary flake. The object appears to have been deliberately notched at the distal end to create a point. There is little further working. The flint is mid grey in colour, but largely covered in milky white patination. 4. Length: 26.13mm, Width: 16.53mm, Thickness: 5.43mm Weight: 1.50g Irregularly shaped secondary flake. Cortex remains along the right side. Little sign of further retouch. The flint is mid grey in colour, but with milky white speckled patination. 5. Length: 27.00mm, Width: 13.69mm, Thickness: 2.29mm Weight: 13.06g Long, thin, secondary flake. Cortex remains at the proximal end. Little signs of further retouch. The flint is white-grey in colour with a matt patina. 6. Length: 24.91mm, Width: 17.29mm, Thickness: 3.14mm Weight: 2.01g Small, fairly broad secondary flake. A very small amount of cortex remains on the left side at the proximal end. A small amount of retouch on the arises of the dorsal face and also very short, abrupt, parallel retouch along the right edge. The flint is translucent mid brown colour with a shiny patina. 7. Length: 23.66mm, Width: 13.68mm, Thickness: 4.00mm Weight: 1.43g Small tertiary flake, perhaps a burin - a small notch has been made on the right side of the dorsal face at the proximal end. No evidence of further retouch. The flint is very light grey in colour with a milky, matt patina. 8. Length: 25.23mm, Width: 13.03mm, Thickness: 4.18mm Weight: 1.34g Small tertiary flake. There is a small amount of retouch in the centre of the dorsal face. The flint is light brown in colour, with a shiny patina in places. 9. Length: 27.51mm, Width: 16.10mm, Thickness: 4.34mm Weight: 1.93g Tertiary flake. The dorsal face has a large central flaking scar, with two thinner ones on either side and a small one at the distal end above this. There is no evidence of further retouch. The flint is mid grey in colour with lighter patches and a fairly shiny patina. 10. Length: 33.82mm, Width: 21.67mm, Thickness: 3.82mm Weight: 3.37g Wide secondary flake. A small amount of cortex remains on the dorsal face. A small notch has been made on the left side at the distal end. There is a small amount of very short retouch along the left side for a few millimetres below this and also retouch created a serrated edge along the right side. The flint is mid brown in colour with lighter patches and a shiny patina. 11. Length: 27.98mm, Width: 14.02mm, Thickness: 3.60mm Weight: 1.38g Long, thin primary flake. No obvious retouch. Milky white rough cortex with orange staining in places.
