Post Medieval cast copper alloy trade weight from the reign of James II (1685-1688). The weight is circular with a wide raised rim on the top. It is 18.8mm in diameter by 3.7mm thick and weighs 6.32 grams, c. 0.22 ounces. The weight is sightly corroded with scratches on the back and it was probably originally a quarter of an ounce weight. It is stamped with: A crowned I (for James II) at 11 o'clock The sword of St Paul (for London) at 1 o'clock An ewer (for the founders company) at 6 o'clock
