A rim sherd from a medieval domestic vessel, probably a jug or pitcher. The rim is upright with a smaller protruding inner lip. The fragment of body that survives suggests the vessel bowls out and may have had a diameter of c.12cm. The fabric is fine grained with very few inclusions visible to the naked eye. Partially reduced - the rim is dark grey but lightens towards the body. Locally made, this sherd dates from the 14th to 15/16th centuries. This sherd measures 26.10mm long, 41.31mm wide and is 6.75mm thick. It weighs 7.7 gms.
