Copper alloy as of Antoninus Pius (AD 138-61), BRITANNIA COS IIII reverse (Britannia seated left on rock in attitude of dejection; to left, shield and sceptre), minted in Rome, AD 154-5, RIC III, p. 142, no. 934
Notes:
A coin of British association (ie mostly found in this provence and probably minted specifically and sent here). They are also often poorly stuck and of low quality. This example appears, from the patina, to have a high lead content in the bronze and may be a contemporary copy.
