Eight body sherds from Severn Valley coarse-ware pottery vessels, as the fabric, colour and thickness differs in each sherd it is likely that a number of vessels are represented in the assemblage. Not enough survives of the sherds to indicate the form or overall vessel size. The sherds date from the Roman period (50 - 410). All the sherds are irregular in plan and broadly sub-rectangular in profile; each curves slightly. They are also worn and abraded by movement in the ploughsoil. The fabric is a relatively soft fired earthenware with a number of small angular and sub-angular black grit (possibly coal measure rock / coal) and quartz inclusions. The fabric is also mica rich. The colour of the fabric varies but is broadly a uniform mid orange brown colour. These sherds vary in thickness and most probably represent cooking and storage vessels. The sherds largest sherd measures 49.3mm in length, 29.2mm width, is 8.1mm thick and weighs 12.83 grams. The sherds smallest sherd measures. 19.6mm in length, 14.6mm width, is 5.8mm thick and weighs 1.97 grams. The eight sherds have a combined bulk weight of 56.65 grams.
