A body sherd from the side wall of a vessel of probable medieval (1250-1350) date. The external face of the sherd is glazed with a relatively thick mid yellowish green coloured glaze which covers the whole of the surface. The glaze is uniform in nature. The base of the pot and rim are missing. On one edge of the sherd is ridge probably being formed by the addition of a strap handle. The fabric of the sherd is a relatively hard earthenware with a number of small angular and sub-angular grit and grog inclusions. There is also a large amount of mica in the fabric. The fabric colour of the sherd is a mid grey colour. A suggested diameter, height or capacity of the vessel cannot be estimated. The sherd measures 26.2mm length, 53.3mm width, 7.3mm thick (body) and weighs 15.74 grams.
