Lithic implement, used for cutting or scraping. It is an irregular semi-circle with a protruding 'tang' at one end. Some retouching can be seen along some of the edges. It is made from a dark grey flint which has some white/cream patches in. Most likely from the Bronze Age period although it is hard to date single flint pieces when they are found out of context. Ron Cowell saw an image of this find and comments 'It could be that this is a natural fractured pebble that is fortuitously shaped, which has been picked up and lightly retouched around the curved edge to provide a scraping or perhaps cutting edge. The ‘tang’ also looks fortuitous and while there are facets that help to shape this, they do look a little rough, as if they may be natural (through ploughing say), but sometimes that can happen if a flint is hafted onto a wooden shaft and then using it fractures the hafted part in an irregular way. Without being able to look in much finer detail this has to be only a slight possibility though.'
