Copper alloy radiate of Carausius (AD 286-93 (Reece Period 14), PAX AVGGG, Pax, probably with transverse sceptre (although original identification stated vertical). Mint of London, S P//MLXXI. RIC V, pt 2, p. 476, cf. no. 143.

Length 23.9mm, Width 22.4mm, Thickness 1.7mm, Diameter 23.9mm, Weight 3g. Die axis: 200 deg. or 7 o'clock. Struck slightly off centre, some wear and surface corrosion with a few rusty brown stains but overall an attractive black patination.

This coin is included in Sam Moorhead's corpus for RIC.
