Late-Medieval/Early Post-Medieval silver-gilt finger ring, probably dating to the 15th/early 16th century. Rings of this style are usually iconographic (for example see Treasure case 2005 T175), often containing images of the saints. However, the bezel of this one is divided into three sections, the central containing a heart and the ones on either side containing a circle divided by a cross, all surrounded by a crude foliate pattern. The shoulders of the ring are moulded to form a flower, whilst the rear of the ring is decorated with an alternating pattern of diagonal ridges and lines of pellets. The ring is silver-gilt.

15th Century-early 16th Century.

Consequently, in terms of age and as the object contains a minimum of 10% precious metal it qualifies as Treasure under the stipulations of the Treasure Act 1996.
